Our approach to automated research, sources, and the information a headline percentage cannot tell you.
Our automated research pipeline collects program information from official sources and uses AI to structure it. Each program includes its sources and research date. You do not need an administrator or an account to explore this information.
We do not infer human review from an internal status flag, or claim that AI research confirms a production’s eligibility. Use the linked official pages to check the terms that matter to your project.
Every public program must have at least one citation matching an official source registered for that program. Raw proposed edits, internal review notes, reviewer identities, and customer records are excluded. A source link alone does not establish that every extracted field is correct.
The research pipeline collects official-source material, detects changes, and uses AI to draft program information. Agreement between AI models is not presented as independent verification. Research dates and official-source fetch dates are shown separately. A source-check date records when the monitoring process fetched the cited material; it does not mean every extracted rule has been validated.
The website reads a versioned catalog snapshot of this public reference information. It has no connection to UPP’s customer database or application API. Refreshing a browser does not refresh the research; the catalog snapshot date tells you when this copy was prepared.
“Source changes detected” means the snapshot includes a change flagged by the automated monitor. “Research refresh due” means the recorded research is at least 90 days old. Its published terms remain visible with that notice and links to the official sources. Source checks do not validate every rule or confirm live funding. Check with the program office before making a commitment.
Proposed, suspended, upcoming, and ended programs are distinguished from active programs. An “Active” label describes the published program status; it does not establish that applications are open or funds remain available.
The directory reports the programs it currently covers. A location without a map marker may have no matching program in this directory or no map coordinates for its records. It does not mean the jurisdiction has no incentives.
Records without the required source linkage are withheld. “Not stated” means the source-cited record does not establish the value. It never means zero, no minimum, no cap, or automatic eligibility.
City search uses Google Maps to locate a city or town. We then match the catalog’s recorded jurisdiction names and region codes, showing city-specific, state/province, and national programs separately. A program for another city in the same state is not treated as a program for your city. Coverage gaps remain explicit.
Nearby suggestions use approximate straight-line distances to jurisdiction map centers. They do not describe driving distances or eligibility boundaries. Planning checklists bring together the recorded application, spending, labor, audit, and payment requirements for your selected programs. Confirm current terms and whether programs can be combined with the administering agencies.
City search text is sent to Google as you type to suggest matching cities. We do not request your device location. Shared city links include a Google place ID; city coordinates and address components are not saved to UPP’s database or the public catalog. Google’s Terms and Privacy Policy apply to the map service.
A film or television incentive does not automatically cover commercials. We distinguish programs that include commercials, exclude them, or do not confirm their eligibility. Inclusion is only the first check: spend, residency, production type, application timing, and other conditions still apply.
Headline percentages can apply to different categories of spending. The comparison includes rate details, qualifying expenditure, labor rules, application timing, caps, audits, and how benefits are received. Sorting by headline rate does not rank the value of an incentive for your production.
Amounts retain each program’s stated currency. Annual caps are program limits, not live funding balances. We do not convert currencies or calculate a savings award in this public explorer. An end date is not necessarily an application deadline.
Maps, program pages, comparisons, and exports are available without an account. A shared shortlist link contains selected program IDs and search filters. It does not contain UPP project records, budgets, documents, watchlists, or customer identities.
CSV and print exports include sources and research dates. Exports are snapshots; revisit the linked program pages before relying on them. Sign in when you want to watch a program or track it against a project.
If a source has changed or a program needs a correction, contact UPP with the program page and an official source link. Please do not send personal tax records or production financial documents through the public contact form.
